PROJECTS
Empowering Communities.
Since Frontier Power Systems’ inception in 2002, the company has been involved in dozens of different projects, in various capacities. The services Frontier Power Systems offers to its customers include:
· Wind Turbine Manufacturing
· Wind Turbine Installation & Commissioning
· Micro-grid Design & Implementation
· Wind Farm Design · Wind Resource Assessment
· Wind Flow Modeling & Analysis
· Project & Construction Management
· Mechanical & Civil Design
Where Frontier Power Systems really shines however, is in the design, production, and installation of complete energy solutions that integrate with diesel generators in remote communities. Though our expertise is in wind, we have also integrated photovoltaic systems into our micro-grid.

Other notable projects include:
North American Leaders
SUMMERSIDE, PEI
Frontier Power Systems facilitated and managed the installation of Canada’s first community owned wind farm. Located in Summerside, P.E.I., this 12 MW wind farm has put Summerside on the map as the city with the highest level of wind power integration in North America.
Canada’s First
RAMEA, NEWFOUNDLAND
Frontier Power Systems designed, financed, built and continues to operate Canada’s first medium penetration wind-diesel project in Ramea, Newfoundland. This wind farm has been operating six 65 kW turbines in automatic mode since 2004, withstanding the harsh Atlantic marine climate.
Prince Edward Island Wind Hydrogen Village
NORTH CAPE, PEI
Frontier Power Systems was responsible for the design and construction of the Prince Edward Island Wind Hydrogen Village. This is a demonstration project sponsored by the P.E.I. Government to confirm the operation of a 100% wind power village electrification system.
Cranking Up the Heat.
ALASKA, USA
Since 2012, Frontier Power Systems has been involved with projects in a number of Alaskan villages. In our early projects, Frontier successfully integrated our unique e+micro control system with wind turbines, diesel generators, and thermal stoves already existing in the community.
